October 2017: Dan Walker BBC Breakfast  #OperationScratch

We are extremely excited to announced that BBCs’ Dan Walker has chosen iGolfStudio and our PGA Professional Ben Mason to help him try and achieve his #OperationScratch challenge. Golf Monthly have challenged Dan to see whether or not he can become a scratch golfer over the winter break (current handicap 4.8). After being offered the chance to go and train in London we are extremely honoured that Dan felt the best place to help him try and achieve his challenge was iGolfStudio, where he will be having regular lessons with Ben. To keep up to date with how #OperationScratch is doing follow us on Twitter @iGolfStudio, @benmasongolf and @mrdanwalker. Game On!

January 2017: Exciting news! There’s a change of face at iGolfStudio for the New Year!

Our existing Pro, Tom Johnson, is leaving at the end of January 2017 to explore pastures new.  Tom has been a great asset to our business and part of the original set up team and we will miss him but wish him much success with his new venture.

The great news is that we have a new PGA Professional – Ben Mason – joining the team at iGolfStudio.  Ben had a glittering Amateur career, representing both Yorkshire and England and was also a member of the 1999 Walker Cup Squad.  He turned Pro in 1999 and very quickly gained his playing rights for the European & Challenge Tours.  About 7 years ago Ben decided to focus his attention on coaching using the experience he gained by playing with, watching and learning from some of the best players and coaches in the world.  Ben has worked at Waterfront Golf for the last 6 and a half years and brings with him over 7,000 hours of coaching experience.  He is a Class A PGA Professional, a Level 3 Qualified Golf Coach and really understands the trials and tribulations we face as amateur golfers!

Ben will be available for lessons and fittings from 30th January, these can be booked online, by calling the Studio on 01142 442322 or Ben’s mobile, 07595022556.

To celebrate Ben’s arrival, we will be offering a 25% online booking discount during February and March.

August 2016: iGolfStudio has just turned one year old so we thought we would reminisce and share with you some photos of the transition from empty former business premises into a state of the art golf facility.

January 2016: Thank you to local Sheffield European Tour professional Matt Fitzpatrick for visiting iGolf Studio.

After becoming the first Englishman to win the US Amateur Championship since 1911, he turned professional in 2014 and has since become the British Masters champion in 2015 and Nordea Masters champion in 2016.  He also represented Europe in the Ryder Cup 2016.  We look forward to seeing more and more great things from Matt.

December 2015: Great to have one of the world’s leading golf coaches visit iGolf Studio.

Pete Cowen has had many successes as coach to numerous great players.  His most recent successes include the current US Masters Champion, Danny Willett, British Masters Champion 2015 Matt Fitzpatrick and British Open Champion 2016 Henrik Stenson.

October 2015: Prior to the Olympics we had a visit from GB Hockey Goalkeeper, Maddie “Mad Dog” Hinch where she tried out her golfing skills in the Full Swing and the Putting Studio.  Maddie and the team won Gold and with a fantastic personal performance in the Penalty Shootout defeated the favourites, the Netherlands, in the final.  They also went through the whole tournament winning every single match.  iGolfStudio would like to congratulate Maddie, the GB Hockey team and all other medal winners on a fantastic performance.

July 2015: Prior to our opening we were privileged to welcome Joe Louis Barrow Jr, son of former world boxing champion Joe Louis.  Joe is the CEO of The First Tee, a youth development organisation introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to young people.  With trustees such as Jack Nicklaus and former trustee Arnold Palmer, this charity has grown to reach four million people annually.  Through after-school and in-school programs, The First Tee helps shape the lives of young people from all walks of life by reinforcing values like integrity, respect and perseverance through the game of golf. And it’s making a difference.
